Sending email in SalonTouch 10

Modified on Tue, 06 Aug 2019 at 12:07 PM

To send out Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) emails in SalonTouch, such as receipts to clients. 4 things are required.

  1. SMTP Server Address
  2. SMTP Port (SSL)  SalonTouch only works with SSL security.
  3. Your User Name
  4. Your Password

Most providers usually require a paid account in order to send out emails.  This is to reduce spamming and this is outside the control of SalonTouch.  You will need to confirm with your email provider that they support SMTP connections from 3rd party software.  You may also need to turn off two-factor authentication for the account as SMTP does not support that.

Gmail will usually allow you to use a free account but the only way to know is to try it.  SalonTouch always recommends getting a paid account to ensure all your emails go through.

If you do a Google search on Gmail SMTP settings you should see their settings which is shown below.  What is highlighted in red is what you will enter into SalonTouch along with your User Name and Password.

If you use any other free email provider, you can do Goggle using your email provider SMTP settings (e.g Yahoo SMTP settings).

You will need to look for the SMTP information that is required.

If you cannot find it in your Goggle search, then you need to contact your email provider or website provider, and see if they will provide it for you on a free account.  Please note they may tell you you will need a paid account.

With this information, the salon can easily setup the SMTP email settings in SalonTouch using this article: http://help.salontouch.com/support/solutions/articles/14000103397.
