Working with the till

The till must be opened to make a sale in SalonTouch.  If you ever receive the message below when trying to make a sale the till must be opened first.



Opening the Till


  1. Click on the Register button at the top of the screen.
  2. Click Till - Current on the left side.
  3. The yellow label along the top will say The till is Closed. Saving will Open the till; otherwise the till is currently open.
  4. Count out the cash in the register and enter in the information in the appropriate locations.
  5. After all of the money has been counted out, click Save and the label will change to green and the till will be opened.



Closing the Till


  1. Click on the Register button at the top of the screen.
  2. Click Till - Current on the left side.
  3. The green label along the top will say The till is open. Saving will close the till.
  4. Count out the cash in the register, the credit card receipts, and the miscellaneous items such as gift cards used if any and enter in the information in the appropriate locations.
  5. After all of the items has been counted out, click Save and the label will change to yellow and the till will be closed.
  6. Click Balance to generate a till balance report.
  7. This will display the totals that the computer expects and the totals the employee entered.  If the totals do not match, the shift report did not balance and the till, daily totals, and/or activity report will need to be looked at.
